How to Donate to the Library

The mission of the Sarasota County Library System is to offer equal access to information, foster lifelong learning and inspire community engagement. Your gift makes it possible to continue to provide outstanding library service. Thank you. You have three ways to give:

Make a Difference Fund

Because of your generosity, the 52,000 children, teens and adults who use the libraries each week will find the information they need, participate in learning opportunities and engage in their community.

Download the Make a Difference Fund donation form to complete, print and mail in. Your gift makes it possible to continue to provide outstanding library service.

Unless otherwise specified, your gifts will be added to the Sarasota County Library System "Make A Difference Fund" which supports services at each of the ten public libraries. For more information, call (941) 861-5420 or 941-861-5481.

Materials Donations

Please review our Materials Donation Guidelines prior to bringing items to the library.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, some libraries may reach their capacity and pause donation acceptance. To find out which libraries are currently accepting donations, please contact Ask Us or call 941-861-1110.

Library Foundation for Sarasota County

The Mission of the Library Foundation for Sarasota County is to ensure the future of our libraries as an indispensable community resource by raising public awareness of the importance of our libraries, by generating private sector financial support to supplement public tax funding, and by being a proponent for issues that promote the viability of our library system.

Visit the Library Foundation for Sarasota County's website for more information and to explore ways to give.  As a 501(c)(3), donations to the Foundation may qualify for matching programs.
