Our chat, email and text service for Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Closed on county/library holidays. Our contact information, frequently asked questions (FAQs) and helpful resources are also provided. Submit emails and online forms 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and we'll respond during regular business hours. Ask us! We're eager to help.
Ask-A-Librarian
Florida's virtual reference resource provides virtual reference service including live chat and text messaging. Staffed by academic and public librarians throughout Florida, hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (EST). Email is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and we'll respond during regular business hours.
Assistive Technology and Services
We strive to provide access to materials.
- Books by Mail is a service that provides library materials through the mail to people who are unable to access the library collection due to temporary or long-term physical or visual disability.
- Talking Books via Pinellas County. Residents of all ages who are unable to read standard print material due to visual, physical or learning disabilities are provided recorded, Braille and large-print books and magazines as well as a collection of descriptive videos and playaways.
- Tools for Low Vision. Sarasota County Libraries are improving access to library resources for living with vision loss.
Book Club Kits
Explore our book club kits for adults, young adults or children. Book Club Kits contain ten copies of a single title along with a biography of the title's author, discussion questions and a list of suggested further reading.

Curbside Pickup

Pop-Up Library
Our Pop-Up Library makes scheduled stops each week at childcare facilities, retirement communities, senior centers, recreational facilities and other areas with limited access to the public library.
Printing
Review the process for printing on our library computers or submitting documents from your own device. All documents will be printed as complete files in black-and-white.
- Customized print features will be available via the ePRINTitSaaS app (Get the app! - iOS | Android) and online submission form, including page range, double sided and copies.
- Email a complete document for one-sided copy to bw-sarasotacountylibraries@eprintitsaas.com.
